Biography/ Statement

Chris Rutledge graduated from Memphis College of Art with a BFA in computer art. In 2002 he was choosen for Mississppi's Emerging Artist Series. He has shown around the country including Harvard University. He currently resides in Boulder, Colorado and is active in the art community of the southwest.

"All my work comes from the heart. I rarely repeat the same process and always have a free spirit when creating. Spontanity and sensitivity to my energy and emotions is what transforms my current state of mind into visual imagery. I use baby dolls, churches, and hidden faces to create dominate focal points. Then I build environments around these focal points by stacking transparent images on top of each other."
